Rhône Walk-Around Tasting
Last night we hosted an excellent walk around tasting in our Cellars at the Waud Handford Wines Shop in South Ken.
30 guests joined for an informal tasting of wines from the Northern and Southern Rhône - 5 whites and 11 reds, with a number of fabulous wines on show. We ticked off the majority of the appellations, including: Condrieu, Saint Joseph, Hermitage, Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Rasteau and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We also had a couple of wines from Costieres de Nimes - not strictly in the Rhône appellation - but around 30 mins due South of CNDP and in the same style.
The Rhône Valley offers incredible value - as many of our guests were there to find some everyday drinking options - as well as some dinner party wines too that would not break the bank.
