Product: NV Heinrich, Naked Orange, Burgenland
This is our Orange wine choice for the summer. For the uninitiated, orange wine is the result of extracting flavour and phenolics from the skins of white grapes, not just relying on grape juice. It is the same process used to make red wines from black grapes. 5 different grapes are blended into this one, sourced from the shores of Lake Neusiedl. Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Roter Traminer and Muscat Ottonel. After crushing, the juice is in contact with the skins for 2 weeks.
With this wine, I cracked open a sample with Hugo and Cyril in the shop. This was only the second ever orange wine Hugo had tasted. We were all sold on the fresh mandarin citrus flavour, open bouquet of blossom and kumquat and long persistent finish. Not grippy or tannic, it is a thirst-quenching expression.

Orders are typically processed within 2 working days and shipped by DPD using their Next Day service (delivery by the end of the next working day).
Orders to remote areas (e.g. Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland) may be sent with DPD’s Two Day service (delivery within two working days).
