Product: NV Gosset, Grand Rose Brut
Made since 1990 as a blend instead of single vintage, the NV Brut Grand Rose is a beautiful, precise wine. Chalky, mineral notes frame a core of expressive, perfumed fruit as this taut, focused rose opens up in the glass. The wine reveals tons of depth in a focused, vibrant style. This is a superb effort from Gosset. The Brut Grand Rose is 56% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir, plus 9% still Pinot from Bouzy and Ambonnay. This Cuvée has a soft and flowing hue of salmon pink with a few ruby-cherry reflections. The nose is clearly marked by the strawberries both the fresh fruit and as jam. Wild red cherry, redcurrant and with a hint of grapefruit dominate the palate. The mouth is well structured with a constant tension between freshness and a fruity roundness.
