A sit down tasting with our ‘king of Cabernet’! Jean-Michel grew up in the Loire surrounded by Cabernet Franc. He has worked as head wine maker for the Schepper family since 1989, the very year that James founded Handford Wines. The spotlight is on Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere, a modest but brilliant Margaux, where Jean-Michel has proved himself a master of Cabernet.
The pure Cabernet cuvee, le Createur, is only made in the best of Cabernet years. We will be trying five vintages of Createur as well as examples of Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere and their neighbouring St Emilion properties, Chateau la Tour Baladoz and Chateau la Croizille.
This is a sit down, pre poured tasting starting promptly at 6.30pm. Places are limited and must be booked.
