If you are looking for obscure and characterful this is the cork to pull. Four generations of the Lazkano family have farmed these 25 hectares of high trained Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarribi Beltz grapes that overlook the Bay of Biscay. Getariako Txakolina is the region. Alcohols tend to be low (11% here) and so you need to drink a fair amount to pronounce these Basque country names. Energy, spritz and vibrant green fruit notes are the perfect partner for highly flavoured seafoods such as anchovy and tuna. The family are as fun as the wine!
