A rare white variety brought back from extinction by the team at Ktima Zafeirakis. Christos Zafeirakis, the 4th generation winemaker, spent many years training in the Northern regions of Italy, namely Piedmont, and so you can find a lot of similarities between Malagouzia and Cortese of Gavi or Arneis of Roero due to the sandier soils that Christos plants on. Stainless steel fermentaion helps preserve the delicate floral profile of this grape. White blossom and jasmine grace the palate throughout with white peach and asian pear in support. The finish is clean and mineral with brilliant coastal bite. From the previously mentioned Zafeirkas Winery, this is made from Malagousia grapes grown on schist soils farmed using organic methods. The vineyard is located in the Thessalia region, close to Mount Olympus.
