Product: 2023 San Marzano, Tramari Rose Primitivo, Salento IGT
Tramari rosé is made by the saignée method producing a beautiful salmon pink appearance and continues fermentation in steel tank. On the nose Mediterranean maquis and fennel combine with wild cherry and raspberry notes, the body is full and persistent with refreshing lemon zest, hibiscus, and a touch of salinity. Meaning ‘between the seas’, Tramari rosé is elegant and sophisticated yet easy drinking. Primitivo is picked on the edge of ripeness in the vineyards of Salento 100 meters above sea level, in shallow clay-rich soil. Dedicated to preserving Apulian viticulture and varieties San Marzano cooperative has a rich history dating back to 1962. Having now attracted 1,200 growers they fuse tradition with modern technology and advanced vinification techniques to produce elegant wines that pay homage to local history and terroir. In 2021, San Marzano was awarded the ‘Cooperative Winery of the Year Award’ by Gambero Rosso. The perfect accompaniment to pizza, Italian antipasti, fish broth, and young or slightly aged cheese.
