Product: 2023 Frescobaldi, Pomino
In 1855, the Frescobaldi family introduced hitherto unknown vine varietals in Tuscany, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, paving the way for the future. The 20th century was characterised by the activities of Vittorio, Ferdinando and Leonardo Frescobaldi, who elevated Tuscany to a place of excellence for viticulture. The Pomino 2023 has delicate strawberry and raspberry aromas on the nose. Hints of clove and white pepper come through on the palate and there are fresh, supple tannins and a silky texture. Will match well with roast duck, mushroom cassoulet and semi-soft cheeses such as Emmental.
