Product: 2023 Domaine Huet, Vouvray, Clos Bourg Sec
Perhaps the most iconic vineyard in the appellation, Clos Bourg sits above the town with the bell tower of the church at eye level as you look over the ancient wall surrounding the vines. This is one of the earliest vineyard visits I made and it leaves a huge impression. Intense, red apple nose that seems to be infused with notes of red fruits; raspberry and pomegranate. Unctuous quince jelly with soft minerality on the palate. Rich in both flavour and tradition. JH MW
