Corriere della Sera is one of Italy's oldest newspapers and Luigi Albertini was one of the original owners. During the Mussolini period, he was ousted by his co-owners for his opposition to the Italian fascist regime. He later won a legal case in response to this and used the funds to develop the Castello di Torre estate.
The variety Malvasia Puntitata is mostly grown to be used in Lazio's Frascati wine which makes up the bulk of the region's wine production to list in Roman restraunts. At Castello di Torre, the Malvasia comes from very old vines planted on limesone and tuff 5 kilometres from the sea.
The variety is Malvasia Puntitata. It is semi-aromatic and mostly used for Lazio's Frascati wine. Here, as a sole grape, it offers lots of fresh yellow fruit to taste with acid helping to focus the intensity into the middle of your palate. Green pineapple and pear flavour makes this a great Roman sipper.
