Product: 2022 San Marzano, EDDA, Salento IGT
Aged for 4 months on lees in French oak, Edda shimmers in the glass with a pale lemon/gold hue. Aromatics of delicate white flowers, soft peach, lime, and vanilla brioche conjure up Mediterranean sunshine. A Generous palate brims with noticeable acidity intertwined with elegant savoury and mineral notes reflective of the Salento, a limestone peninsula that divides the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Meaning "she" in Salento dialect, Edda was created to represent the feminine sensual side of San Marzano. The vineyard is located 100 m above sea level and benefits from great diurnal temperature variations. Dedicated to preserving Apulian viticulture and varieties San Marzano cooperative has a rich history dating back to 1962. Having now attracted 1,200 growers they fuse tradition with modern technology and advanced vinification techniques to produce elegant wines that pay homage to local history and terroir. In 2021, San Marzano was awarded the ‘Cooperative Winery of the Year Award’ by Gambero Rosso. Elegant and complex we would pair this with oysters, cured cheeses, light fish dishes, white meats, and risotto.
Orders are typically processed within 2 working days and shipped by DPD using their Next Day service (delivery by the end of the next working day).
Orders to remote areas (e.g. Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland) may be sent with DPD’s Two Day service (delivery within two working days).
