Like the Charmes Chambertin, this is another prodigal vineyard that has been sold as a monopole until this year. As said a small amount is set aside for us and is one of the very best buys on our offer. The situation is extraordinary, almost hanging off the very highest bit of south facing cliff edge at the very top of the village. There is a source here and so little water stress, not that 2022 gave too many problems in that department. This is Grand Cru quality. Though a little shy now, there is massive density and penetrating dark red fruit notes. The proof of the purity is in the absolute minimal doses of sulphur that Philippe has used; the equivalent of just a large glass in a 300 bottles barrel. Quite outstanding wine this. 2030 to 2045
