Product: 2022 Louis Latour, Var, Valmoissine Pinot Noir
One of the biggest names in Burgundy, Louis Latour has a history that dates back to 1731, when the first vineyards in Beaune were bought by the Latour family. In 1815, the first wines were shipped to Great Britain and they have been hugely popular here ever since. Valmoissine is located on the site of the ancient monastery of Valmoissine at 500 meters above sea-level. This guarantees sunshine during the summer months whilst remaining cool at night and limits the possibility of spring frosts. The vineyard"s Southern exposure gives the grapes perfect maturity at the same time as the Grands Crus of Corton. The yield is small in order to ensure perfect maturity and concentration of the grapes, the factors that create the best quality wines. This ruby coloured wine has pure aromas of morello cherries and wild herbs. It is medium bodied with supple tannins and delicate hints of violets. The finish is gorgeously silky and fresh. A great match with duck breast, mushroom stroganoff or goat’s cheese.
