Merchant Review NR
A patch of very old vines that tends to ripen with a heavier colour and flavour. Raisins Dorees is a clone or type of Aligote, perhaps best known at the Bouzeron estate of Aubert de Villaine. Again this was left hanging for at least a week longer than other whites to emphasize that deep colour and puppy fat that balances the lime pith, quince and floral fragrance. It does start life a little ‘sweet and sour’ but it’s not long before these protagonists come together to give a generous and complex wine. Worth keeping a bottle or two for 7 or 8 years! 2024 to 2027
