At just over 5 hectares, this is one of the largest monopole vineyards in Burgundy. It is managed biodynamically and with utmost respect not only for the vineyard, but for the expression of its constituent parts. These were tasted separately. The high zone from the youngest vines planted in 1984 and 1986, is a little leaner though with a spoon of crème fraiche and spiced vanilla. The 60+ year old vines further down the hill yield a silky smooth, enticing classic while the 86 and 100 year old vines have yet more power but with a frissant twist at the finish. Paul even loves the press wine in 2022. That’s the last portion from the press that has been squeezed a little. Again, there is plenty of richness and that taut, energetic structure. Put them all together and you get a glass full of magic. Spellbinding, but does need time. 2033 to 2049
