Product: 2022 Blanc, Chateau Argadens
A blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon, the Argadens Blanc 2022 is a pale-yellow colour with brilliant golden tints. The nose is powerfully aromatic with notes of grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, lychee and rose petal. The palate has a lovely tangy vibrancy to it, with plenty of freshness and length – a really well-balanced and rounded wine from the Sichel family. The original name of this property, parts of which date back to the 12th and 16th centuries, was La Salle d’Argadens. It became Château Argadens in 2002, when it was bought by Maison Sichel. Sichel’s aim in acquiring Argadens was quite simply to see it express the full potential of its wonderful terroir and become one of the benchmark properties in the Bordeaux Supérieur category. To achieve this, the company has invested heavily in terms of finance, time and technology. Sichel’s first vintage at the estate was 2002. Food matches: Try this with pan-fried turbot or red mullet, as well as raw fish dishes like ceviche, sushi or sashimi.
