Product: 2022 Alain Gautheron, Chablis, Vieilles Vignes
This is very traditional Chablis - aged and fermented in steel vat to preserve the fresh steely flavours. It has fresh, floral aromas, appley fruit and complex, rich minerally notes. In the mouth it is fruity and well balanced, long and with good acidity and a complex finish. It feels like it must have some oak aging - but it doesn"t actually. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Domaine Gautheron is located in Fleys, a village surrounded by Chablis eastern hills. There are 30 hectares of vines under three AOP: Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis Premier Cru on four climats: Vaucoupin, Les Fourneaux, Mont de Milieu and L’Homme Mort. A family owned estate and has been operated for more than seven generations. If you enjoy traditional Chablis - then this is the wine for you! Food matches - a lovely aperitif, or can stand up with bigger flavours such as lobster or scallops.
