San Marzano F undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks before spending 12 months in French and Caucasian oak. The sunkissed Mediterranean climate is reflected in a nose of violets, warm spices, ripe plum, and black cherry jam. The Palate is full-bodied and unctuous with flavours of stewed dark fruits smoothly accented by tobacco, cocoa, and licorice. Negroamaro is hand-picked from 3 vineyards in Contrada di Monte la Conca, characterized by soil rich in loam and iron oxides that give the topsoil the distinctive red hue. "F" Negromaro stands for Feudi di San Marzano, a name integral to the history of San Marzano. Dedicated to preserving Apulian viticulture and varieties San Marzano cooperative has a rich history dating back to 1962. Having now attracted 1,200 growers they fuse tradition with modern technology and advanced vinification techniques to produce elegant wines that pay homage to local history and terroir. In 2021, San Marzano was awarded the ‘Cooperative Winery of the Year Award’ by Gambero Rosso. These powerful yet well-integrated tannins call for smokey grilled meats, strong cheese, rich tomato pasta, and roasted vegetables.
