The first assemblage tasting took place on March 1st and resulted in a blend consisting of 12 lots. This core blend was used as the control for the second assemblage tasting on May 17th, in which the eightstrong tasting panel assessed further lots blind for their potential contribution to the blend. Six of the ten candidate lots cleared the bar for Monte Bello, comprising three Merlot and three Cabernet lots from different blocks on the estate. The final blend consists of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4.5% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. Deep and dark purple hues with aromas of red plum, black cherry, anise, sarsaparilla and earthy undertones. A pleasant entry with medium weight leads to a full structured mid-palate. Youthful tannins and bright acidity make for a long and juicy finish and show great aging potential.
Orders are typically processed within 2 working days and shipped by DPD using their Next Day service (delivery by the end of the next working day).
Orders to remote areas (e.g. Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland) may be sent with DPD’s Two Day service (delivery within two working days).
