Far smaller than its neighbour, Echezeaux, Grands Echezeaux is renowned for its elegance, complexity and harmonious balance between fruit character and tannic structure. A real contrast to the years preceding and succeeding it, 2021 was an old-school vintage due to the horrible growing season. Intense cold and frost in April decimated the crops, though a good end to the season saved the harvest. Lower yields and earlier pleasure in what is a ‘drinking’ rather than ‘collecting’ vintage. 95 Points - Robert Parker 94 Points - Jasper Morris
