Clos de la Roche is one of the finest Grand Crus, situated at the northern tip of Morey St Denis, on the border with Gevrey Chambertin. It is muscley and atheltic in style with red and dark fruit characteristics combined with a musky and wild sensation. This is complimented by Domaine Dujac`s signature stylish whole bunch winemaking technique to create a fantastically complex and age worthy wine. Wonderful at best and disastrous at worst, 2020 was a vintage favouring white. A good growing season ended with a scorching hot summer and the earliest harvest on record. Chardonnay grapes being picked earlier benefitted, whilst the reds picked later could, at their worst, be overripe with cooked fruit characteristics. Thankfully, the best wines are reminiscent of 2005 with immense ageing potential.
