Although the Clergets have a little Echezeaux, this is the flagship wine. 5 generations have worked this land which is a stone`s throw from their house in the village. It lies just north east of the road that comes in from the Chateau du Clos Vougeot. Justine is particularly pleased with the fruit here and has used a couple more new barrels. The result is a little tricky to decipher right now but that is so often an indication of greatness to come. I couldn’t stop sniffing this one! There are so many nuances; red cherry pie, bay leaf, cinnamon, redcurrant, brioche and many more. Enchanting. 2027 to 2035
