Product: 2020 Alejandro Fernandez (Tinto Pesquera), Reserva, Ribera del Duero DO
Aged for 24 months in American oak barrels before bottling, the Tinto Pesquera Reserva 2020 is made with 100% Tempranillo. Rich and intense on the nose, with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, vanilla and clove. The palate is smooth with abundant silky tannins, excellent length and, whilst full bodied, retains great freshness. A pioneer in Tempranillo winemaking methods, Tinto Pesquera is owned and run by the Fernandez Rivera family, in one of Spain’s top wine producing regions; Ribera del Duero. In 1972, Alejandro Fernandez and Esperanza Rivera bought a stone winery and began producing wine under the name Tinto Pesquera. Word began to spread about Alejandro’s wines and the potential of the region, so much so that in 1982 the Ribera del Duero DO was created – a direct result of Alejandro’s trailblazing wines. Today, the winemaking group is run by their granddaughters who continue to innovate and expand their family’s business. Food Pairing: Roast lamb, braised beef or venison.
