Product: 2019 Rockford, Shiraz Cabernet Rod & Spur, Barossa Valley
Rockford Rod & Spur Shiraz Cabernet has components from the old vines that are the staple of the Rockford style, as well as components from vines that have been replanted from cuttings taken from the original hundred year old vineyards. This blend of 67% Shiraz and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon is a return to the great Australian reds of the 1950s and 60s when Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon blends dominated the premium market. This very Australian blend is not common in any other wine region of the world.<br/><br/>With plenty of sweet spice and brambly blackcurrant comes a concentrated blackcurrant and vanilla aroma following on to a rich, full bodied palate. The flavour is full of crunchy black fruit with soft tannins, refreshing acidity and a subtle vanilla sweetness.<br/><br/>Established in 1984, Rockford is now in its 38th vintage and prides itself on being a traditional Australian winery. Founded by Robert O’Callaghan the winery is a family-owned Barossa institution using traditional Barossa varieties some of which have vines dating back to the 1880s. Much of the equipment also dates back over 100 years and this unique approach to heritage winemaking results in a range of wines which represent the pinnacle of quality that Barossa can produce.
Orders are typically processed within 2 working days and shipped by DPD using their Next Day service (delivery by the end of the next working day).
Orders to remote areas (e.g. Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland) may be sent with DPD’s Two Day service (delivery within two working days).
