A fabulous wine to collect in recent years being extremely serious and fair value for a Grand Cru. This year the Roche is star bright, pure, purple and red, and understandably closed on the nose. Wow! Dark, brooding red fruits with vanilla and sweet spice from that bit of new oak. Beautifully even across the palate and with power to last nearly a full minute on the tongue! Doing the right deals with the cooper and achieving that sense of roundness, rather than dominance from the oak is becoming a hallmark here. Judged to perfection. 2030 to 2044
