Product: 2019 Chateau Barde Haut Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
A Grand Cru Classé, the Barde-Haut 2019 is well-defined on the nose with aromas of blackberry, ripe black cherry, chocolate and black olive. The palate is elegant and full of flavour – black fruit, soft spice and smoky oak. It’s medium bodied with chewy tannins and a lovely long finish. A wine with great ageing potential. Located in Saint Emilion on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Chateau Barde-Haut is run by husband-and-wife team, Patrice Lévèque, an impassioned winegrower, and Hélène Garcin, who devotes all her energy to presenting their wines to the public. Vineyards are planted on clay limestone soils, with Merlot (80%) being the main variety and Cabernet Franc (20%) making up the rest. The beautiful 250-year-old property is set within an amphitheatre of vines, which span over 16 hectares. Food matches: Wonderful with beef, lamb, game or poultry.
