One of the most classic of all red 1er Crus this is high up and beside the famous Clos St Jacques. Somewhat sandy and more friable soils spawns a more energized and spring water pure red. These high vineyards that benefit from some exposure are perhaps the most outstanding in this vintage. La Garenne in Puligny is another example. Outstanding freshness and lift here, layers of ripe redcurrent, strawberry and with a hint of pepper and sweet spice. Estournelles 2018 will be happy in the cellar for a couple of decades or more. 2025 to 2039.
