The Mosconi MGA is found in the south of Monforte D’Alba, some 10 miles from Chiara’s winery. Here the rockier free-draining Calcareous soils bring out more robust tannins in the Nebbiolo. This is the only plot that Chiara ‘pushes’ through barrique in order to soften it’s muscular frame at a faster rate than if she had aged in botti. Mosconi 2018 delivers great density with high ripe tannins translating into herbal tea and anise nuances on a backdrop of intense red and black currants.
