The 2016 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is a beautifully fleshed-out and concentrated expression of the finest Barolo with black and purple fruits, cherry and violet nuances and hints of liquorice and tar. Once again, palate texture plays an important role in expressing the the power and momentum of this wine. But like the maiden 2013 and the 2015 follow-up, this 2016 Riserva also reveals an incredibly fine and delicate Grand Cru like focus, puurity and precision with touches of wood smoke, ash, blood orange, mint leaf and salty black licorice over hints of black cherry liquor, potpourri and aniseed spice. Quite simply a thoroughly seductive, spellbinding wine. Drink from 2024 to 2045+. 97/100 Greg Sherwood MW
