The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Altero, shows a sustained depth in colour and crystalline ruby rim. Ripe, opulent and powerful on the nose, this wine boasts perfumed violets and cherry cola, freshly cut hedgerow and grilled herbs to add to the well focused red fruit aromas. On the palate, there is a noticeable creamy plushness and fruit concentration, complex nuances of freshly baked blueberry crumble and a spicy, bruleed sun raisined cherry finish. Modernistic, but executed oh so stylishly. 96/100 Greg Sherwood MW
