Three non-adjacent vineyards surrounding the parish church, in an area called Rennina in ancient times. The south-west facing soil dates back to the Eocene age and mainly consists of sand, tuff and clay. The vines are 25 years old on average. Strikingly elegant aromas of violets, wild roses, roots, followed closely by blueberries, licorice, nutmeg and saffron rise from the glass. This wine has a remarkable structure, with layers of mellow fruit covering all of the mouth. The tannins are firm but silky and the acidity is vivid leading to a long, lingering finish. 96/100 Greg Sherwood MW
