Product: 2015 Jean-Marc Millot, Savigny-les-Beaune

This is from three plots of village Savigny. The majority is from Aux Fourches, next to 1er Cru Fourneaux on the Aloxe side; the rest is from the south facing and more generous soils of Les Gollardes and les Vermots to the west of the village. The wine is mellower than his Cotes de Nuits greats but, in 2011, Jean Marc feels that he has come to terms with the vagaries of these parcels. The colour is deeper, the richness is closer to that of his Cotes de Nuits wines and the power and concentration are enormous for a wine of this standing. A revelation! 2014 to 2019.
