De Toren Fusion V is a blend of all five Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot - produced by an estate that’s fast heading for Icon status after the incredible success of its Bordeaux blend since its first vintage 1999 - and now also its follow up vintages 2000 to 2007. All have been lauded in South Africa as well as internationally by Robert Parker Jr. of the Wine Advocate. The 2006 vintage finally cracked the 5 stars in the John Platter South African Wine Guide, with the 2007 claiming a commendable 4.5 Star rating. The 2007 shows cedar, blackberry, plum and dark chocolate aromas and flavors give this poised red blend a mysterious edge. Anise and pepper add a spicy kick, the whole package rolls out in one impressive, rich wave, ending with a spicy finish. An ageable wine with great character and poise. One of South Africa`s best. Drink from 2011 to 2022+, and longer in Magnum. 93/100 Wine Enthusiast USA - Editor`s Choice Fo
