The 1994 offers a dark ruby colour as well as a gorgeously sweet bouquet of blackberries, cherry, truffles, licorice, and smoke. As the wine sits in the glass, earthy strawberry and vanillin notes emerge. It is a well extracted and nicely-layered wine with excellent levels of extract, concentration and mineral powder fine tannins. Although it remains young and unevolved for a 17 year old wine, it promises to last for another 30-40 years. The tannin is sweet is already fully integrated, and the fresh, taught acidity is present but very well integrated. This is a wine for true connoisseurs. Anticipated maturity. 2011-2045+
