Product: 2021 Domaine Christian Clerget, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Les Charmes
There is a good holding of over a hectare here and Chambolle Charmes is often thought of as one of the great 1er Crus. The Charmes is both tantalising and delicate in 2021. Almost the polar opposite of aux Croix, being the epitome of that ethereal charm that defines Chambolle. The harmony is as good as in any vintage. This is reminding me of all the best things about the 2016 and 2017 vintages! Very fine indeed. 2026 to 2038

Another enviable vineyard area of nearly a hectare from two parcels in the ‘Orveau’ sector. Complex, savoury, yeast, flint, fireworks, mineral, chewy black fruits with tannins that are bold for the vintage, this is relatively closed as you’d expect. There is a note of more lifted and delicate raspberry on the finish. In 2020 there were 4 barrels of the normal 20 odd. In 2021 there are just 3. So less than 1000 bottles. Roll up! 2030 to 2042
