Viñedos y Bodegas Pitticum is located in the town of Arganza, part of the naturally beautiful and picturesque region of Berciana and is covered under the DO of Bierzo. Pitticum was created in 1999 with the aim of producing wines with personality to showcase the local variety, Mencía, that this region is famous for. The mild climate here is regulated by humidity from the coast. Old vines are planted on 5-hectares of mineral-rich terroir. Grapes are sorted cluster by cluster in order to use only the healthiest and ripest bunches. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks whilst punching down and pumping over is carried out manually, for selective extraction of tannins.
Food matches: Pair with roast lamb, beef stews, grilled meats and game cooked in the wine itself.
Orders are typically processed within 2 working days and shipped by DPD using their Next Day service (delivery by the end of the next working day).
Orders to remote areas (e.g. Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland) may be sent with DPD’s Two Day service (delivery within two working days).
High-value or high-volume orders may be sent out with London City Bond (LCB) couriers who do not currently offer active tracking. Please contact us via email orders@waudhandford.com or phone +44 20 7589 6113 for updates on this.
