Private Tasting at our Cellars in South Kensington
It was a delight to host the Moon House Community for their first wine tasting event in our cellar in South Kensington in November – where we enjoyed a France versus Spain flight of wines. It was combined with a workshop of ‘Finding your Ikigai’ – which is the art of living with purpose. A Japanese way of thinking which gets you thinking about the following things in your life – and if you can get a combination of them all – then you are very much on the right path!
- What is it you love
- What you are good at
- What the world needs
- What you can be paid for

With regards to the wine – we enjoyed a magnum of Louis Brochet Brut Rose champagne on arrival. For the white flight, we tasted Protos Verdejo 2023 from Rueda, before heading to the Loire Valley to taste Domaine Roger Neveu, Pouilly-Fume 2023. Onto the reds – and we served Louis Cheze Caroline Saint Joseph 2022 – one of our favourite producers on the list from the Northern Rhone. This was tasted against a lovely rioja from Luis Canas – a 2022 Crianza. It was an interesting comparison to taste Syrah against Tempranillo – and it seemed that the room was split with their preference. All that was left was to unleash the Mystery Wine Competition where the guests in the room were served a wine out of a decanter and had to complete a series of multiple choice questions –
- Was it France or Spain
- Was it Rioja, Rhone, Ribera del Duero or Bordeaux
- Was it Merlot, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir or Syrah
- Was it £10, £20, £30 or £40 per bottle
- Was it 2010, 2015, 2020 or 2025

Pleasingly, two guests scored 4 out of 5, then we had an out-right winner from the tense tie breaker competition. The winner took a bottle of the mystery wine home – Chateau L’Enclos Pomerol 2020.
A fantastic evening – and we look forward to welcoming the Moon House Community back in the near future.
