This morning marked the annual release of the iconic Tenuta San Guido wines from Tuscany in Italy - and many of you will be familiar with their top gun wine - Sassicaia. This is the legendary Italian wine estate, with wines that are wanted all over the world. Sassicaia is the most famous Italian red wine - and can be purchased to drink and enjoy, or bought as an investment play too. Le Difese 2020
This wine has been crafted as an approachable and attractively priced wine for everyday enjoyment. Delicious and easy going, this will drink beautifully from release. 55% Sangiovese, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon - this is the perfect wine to share with family and friends. Guidalberto 2020
This is the 21st vintage of the second wine at Tenuta San Guido. Super Tuscan wines utilise the Bordeaux blend, so this 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon wine is an absolute treat. Sassicaia 2019
This investment grade wine is an absolute triumph - already receiving 98 points from Monica Larner at the Wine Advocate. Elegant, succinct, subtle and refined - this really is a super star wine. Larner suggests this is the best Sassicaia to be released from the estate in the last decade. This wine can be purchased to be held in bond for investment purposes - or you can take delivery in the next couple of months and keep in your cellar.
